Art Contest - 100 Years of Winnie the Pooh

100 years of Winnie the Pooh art contest

Help us celebrate this milestone at our reopening party on June 6, 12p - 5 pm.

There’s something comforting about returning to a place filled with stories. As EPL prepares to reopen its newly renovated main branch at 631 East 222 St. in Euclid, we found inspiration for the celebration in a place that felt especially fitting: the bookshelf.

This year marks 100 years since the first book about “Winnie-the-Pooh” was published — and now, the beloved characters are helping the Euclid Public Library celebrate an adventure of its own. EPL’s reopening party on June 6 12p - 6p will have a Winnie-the-Pooh theme. And what would a celebration of imagination be without a little creativity from the community? We’re hosting a 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh art contest. It’s open to all local adult and teen artists. There will be prizes for the first, second, and third place winners. Winners will be chosen by public vote.

The library is looking for original artwork only. Please note that submissions should NOT directly copy Disney-owned characters or imagery.

(Contest details are below)

Eligibility

  • Open to all local adult and teen artists and there is no entry fee.
  • All mediums that can be hung on a wall are accepted.
  • One entry per artist.
  • All images in the artwork must be family-friendly.
  • Original artwork only.
  • You can make your entry abstract, realism, watercolors, comic book, ink, pencils, sketches, collage, etc. but the submitted work must relate in some way to the Winnie-the-Pooh theme whether it involves the characters or the place where they live. We are looking for unique interpretations to celebrate this milestone anniversary.
